RLDC 2008: a total success
More than 175 college students, professionals, advisors and pre-college students attended the RLDC this past weekend. The conference turned out to be recognized as the best conference by some of the attendees.
Thanks to all of you who attended the R4LDC hosted @ UConn from March 28-30th. Special recognition goes to the Committee for having such great conference planned for us!

Some E-Week activities
- The University at Buffalo Chapter participated in the schools engineering week and hosted a workshop. The workshop was on project management, it was a complete success. The members were responsible for building house with certain requirements. See pictures on the Picture area!
- The UMass @ Lowell Chapter E-week activity was at the school where they brought high school students to visit the college of engineering. It was a great event, they had about 15 students from each SHPE Jr. Chapter and all enjoyed visiting the engineering departments. See pictures on the Picture area!

SHPE Conference, a total success!!!
Better than expected, the new era of service for SHPE was a huge
success, we broke the record for attendance by the students, many students
were offered jobs, the Ultimate Challenge was well received, and the
Academic Olympiad show was a hit and we cant forget the banquet. These are just a few highlights.

Successful Workshops to prepare for SHPE Conference
Prior to the SHPE Conference P&G had workshops at NJIT and Drexel University to prepare student members for the SHPE Conference.
As well, the NYC Professional Chapter had workshops for the student members within the sub region.

Successful Career Development Day in PR!
During September 8 the PR Sub Region held, along with other student organizations, the Career Development Day. Stryker, Lehman Brothers and Johnson & Johnson were the proud sponsors and successfully conducted workshops tracks for the 150+ attendants.

RLDC at UConn!
RLDC 2008 kick off meeting was held August 26 in Poughkeepsie, NY. RVP, RSR, VRSR's, CT Professional Chapter E-Board members and RLDC Committe Chair, Kevin Arpin met to start up the development of this conference to take place on March 28-30 hosted by UConn's Student Chapter.
Also, different meetings have been taking place in the planning and organization of this event.

Region IV Regional Retreat 2008
From August 1 - 3, 2008, Region will hold our annual Regional Retreat. This time in Poughkeepsie, NY. RVP, RSR, Professional Chapter Presidents and Vice RSR's will gathered as a team to train, develop and put in action Region IV's goals for this academic year.
SHPE Region IV members keep in touch and work with us in the accomplishments of all our goals this year.

Looking Forward to very productive and successful National Retreat
From July 24th through the 27th SHPE National held their annual National Retreat, at Costa Mesa, CA. There we will plan SHPE goals for this upcoming year. We are very excited with this year as we are making and renovating much of the programs among other things for the members benefit.
