NTCC Graduate Program
Several programs focused on the academic development of prospective and current graduate students are held during the SHPE national conference

These programs include:

- GRE/GRAD LAB
- Graduate Student Hospitality Suite
- General Graduate Education Workshops

If you are a college representative interested in presentation a workshop for either the Graduate Institute, GRE/GRAD LAB, or general conference, please download the Call For Presenters.  The submission deadline is Friday, November 17, 2006.

SHPE/GEM Graduate Award
This competitive award is presented to graduate students who excel in their academics, teaching, research, leadership and community service. Individuals must be nominated for this award. Nominees must be pursuing an advanced technical degree in science, technology, engineering or math full-time (9 hrs/semester) (an exception is made for doctoral candiates). The application must be POSTMARKED by Saturday, September 30, 2006. Please click on the link for more information.

Graduate Institute
This one-day event is a series of focused-seminars addressing graduate student issues including how to write an effective curriculum vitae, the academic job search, opportunities for non-academic research, negotiating the dissertation writing process, nurturing the dissertation advisor/mentor relationship, post-doctoral opportunities, and graduate funding. The application must be RECEIVED by Friday, November 3, 2006.  Please click on the link for more information.

GRE/GRAD LAB
This two-day event will bring undergraduates who are either interested in pursuing or in the process of applying to a technical advanced degree program in science, technology, engineering, or math. Selected participants will take practice GRE exam, learn GRE test-taking strategies, attend a series of graduate preparation seminars, and attend a VIP hospitality suite. Select participants will have part of their conference registration paid and up to $300 in travel provided. The cost to participants is $100. Graduate Hospitality Suites
These hospitality suites are an opportunity for graduate students to hone their networking with other graduate students. Equally important, prospective graduate students are invited to attend to talk with graduate school representatives and faculty.

General Graduate Education Workshops
These workshops are scheduled throughout the conference and address topics on mentoring, financial aid, the application process, choosing the right graduate program, the writing/research process, and the advisor-advisee relationship.  Please read through the conference agenda for these workshops.
