IBM Boulder welcomes SHPE-NTCC participants to the scenic foot
of
the Rocky Mountains! From a distant past as a manufacturing
facility, IBM Boulder has evolved into a site housing more than 20 IBM
organizations, from the world headquarters for printing products to
some of the company's most sophisticated services, software delivery,
systems integration and consulting groups. IBM Boulder celebrated its
40th anniversary in 2005, and our future is bright, with about 4,000
regular employees.
Your IBM visit begins Thursday,
Jan. 11, when
a charter bus will pick you up 7:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Hotel Lobby, with
arrival at the IBM Boulder site at 8:30 a.m. You should be ready to go by 7:15 a.m. You
will be
met by a helpful IBM Boulder employee, who will escort you to the
site's cafeteria for refreshments and a kickoff event featuring fellow
SHPE member Renato Recio, chief engineer of e-system networks, IBM
Systems &Technology Group. As the day's keynote
speaker, you
will enjoy hearing Renato's professional development story, and will
have the opportunity to interact with him during a luncheon roundtable
session. Post-lunchtime activities will include tours of the
IBM
Boulder Business Continuity and Resiliency Services Center, the IBM
Printing Systems Division Boulder InfoPrint Center and the IBM Boulder
Central Power Plant. Your bus will then depart IBM Boulder at
3:15 p.m. and arrive at the Denver Convention Center at approximately
4:15 p.m. We look forward to hosting you in
Boulder!
