What are the dates for NTCC? - Wednesday, January 10, 2007 through Saturday, January 13, 2007.
- Hotel check-out is Sunday, January 14, 2007 by 11:00 am.
How do I register as a student for NTCC? - You must be a paid and approved member for 2006-2007 and have a valid resume posted on your OneSHPE account in order to be eligible to register online for NTCC 2007. For a more speedy process, please register and pay your NTCC 2007 registration fees online. Paper applications are also available at http://www.shpe.org/. Your paper applications will be delayed if a resume is not posted on your OneSHPE account.
What are the Graduate student registration dates and what do the Graduate student packages include? - Please contact Gary Cruz, Assistant Director of Programs-AHETEMS, at 817-272-0776.
How important is it to post my resume? - If you are a Student it is VERY IMPORTANT to post a VALID and ACCURATE resume in the My Career section of OneSHPE! We will have a Resume Review Committee reviewing all resumes to ensure our corporate representatives are recruiting from The Source for Quality Hispanic Engineers and Technical Talent.
What are the consequences if a SHPE student member does not post a resume on their OneSHPE account? - This is a student requirement in order to be eligible to participate at the 30th Annual National Technical Career Conference in Denver, CO. The SHPE Membership Department will be enforcing the following consequences if resumes are not posted by SHPE student members by 12/11/06.
- SHPE students that registered at the EARLY REGISTRATION rate will be re-registered at the REGULAR REGISTRATION rate. Additional fees must be paid by 12/11/06. If not, then the SHPE student will be de-registered from NTCC 2007 and will not be allowed to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- If a resume is still not posted by 12/11/06 and additional fees are not RECEIVED (POSTMARKED BY 12/11/06 WILL NOT QUALIFY) by the SHPE National Office, the SHPE student will be de-registered from NTCC 2007 and will not be allowed to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- SHPE Membership Department will be following the NTCC 2007 cancellation policy for refunds.
What are the NTCC 2007 student registration deadlines? - Early NTCC 2007 Registration
- Begins - November 1, 2006
- Ends - November 24, 2006 (Extended)
- Regular NTCC 2007 Registration
- Begins - November 25, 2006
- Ends - December 11, 2006 (Extended)
Is Airport Ground Transportation covered in the student registration packet? - No. However, individual online reservations booked using the Golden West Commuter website qualify for the best discounts: $13.00 one-way or $24.00 round-trip. Online booking are accepted up to 24 hours before travel time. Reservations made by telephone will be at Golden West Commuter's retail rates, currently $20.00 one-way and $38.00 round-trip.
What meals are covered in the registration packet? - Luncheon and Dinner on Friday, January 12, 2007 only. However, social and networking events will provide.
Can I make a request for a single occupancy room at NTCC 2007? - Under student plans A, ;B, and C, students will be housed four to a room, sharing a quad room that has two full-size beds. The NTCC 2007 Registration Committee will be handling room assignments for students upon receiving your registration and payment. DO NOT call the hotel for room accommodations. Housing assignments will be done as follows: By Plan, By School, By Gender. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- Also, under student plans A, B, and C your fee will cover the cost of the hotel room, but DOES NOT cover the cost of incidentals or other hotel charges. For these, the hotel will require that a credit card deposit upon check-in.
What if I want to get my own room? - Professionals interested in getting a single room will have to make their own arrangement at the following hotel:

If you chose to get your own room when you register for the event register under the following Plan: Events Only - $150. Since you are making your own accommodation arrangement, you do not need to pick the registration plan that includes accommodations.
How do I register for NTCC 2007 online if I was selected to participate at the Academic Olympiad, Design Team competition, or as a Technical Paper Presenter? - NTCC registration is complimentary for those that have been selected to compete in the Design Team, Academic Olympiad, or as a Technical Paper Presenters only. All other competitions must register AND pay for their registration fees online via their OneSHPE account for a speedy process.
What is the NTCC 2007 cancellation policy? - Any request for a refund and to cancel registration on or before 12/02/2006, a refund of 80% of payment received will be refunded.
- Any request for a refund and to cancel registration on or before 12/15/2006, a refund of 50% of payment received will be refunded.
- Any request for a refund and to cancel registration after 12/15/2006, no refund will be issued.
- All refunds will be made three weeks after NTCC 2007 is over. Any request to cancel registration must be requested via email at ntccrefunds@shpe.org
How do I go about receiving a refund if I was double charged or charged the regular NTCC student registration rate rather than the extended early NTCC student registration rate? - Please complete the Refund Request form found below and forward to membership@shpe.org ALONG WITH a copy of the credit or debit card statement that was charged. It is not guaranteed that refunds will happen prior to NTCC 2007 but they will certainly be processed ASAP.
