The SHPE Website Competition was developed to motivate students to use their technical, teamwork and creative skills on a development project.

UPDATE (10/16/06) - The focus of the competition will be the development of a user-friendly and developer-friendly AHETEMS Web site.

Judging Criteria

A minimum of three (3) judges evaluate each Web site that has been submitted and complies with the guidelines including in this package.  The Web sites will be evaluated based on the following five criteria:

1. Content: information provided on the site including text, music, sound, animation, or video
2. Structure and Navigation: refers to framework of the site, organization of content, prioritization of information, and method to move through the site.
3. Visual Design: refers to the appearance of the site
4. Functionality: refers to the use of technology on the site
5. Interactivity: refers to the way a site allows you to be a participant, not a mere spectator.

Process

The SHPE Website Competition winners are selected by a minimum of 3 SHPE professional members with expertise in web page design and Internet.  The participant's Web sites are evaluated against the five criteria and all voting is tabulated to ensure fairness and accuracy.  Participants must submit the entry form by the deadline.  Only Web sites with entry forms will be evaluated. 

The top three Websites will be selected and the winners will be notified before the NTCC 2007 conference to confirm conference attendance.  The process is overseen by the SHPE NTCC 2007 Website Competition Chair.
