 | | Students and Professionals gaining valuable knowledge at NTCC workshops | Technical & Career WorkshopsYou will have the opportunity to participate in a series of technical and career development workshops and panel discussions offered to provide a forum to present, listen and discuss the latest scientific and engineering technologies and issues. | Pre-College SymposiaThis program exposes young Hispanics to engineering, math and science. A program track for middle school students and a program track for high school students will explore the many career opportunities that these fields have to offer. This program will be held at the Grand Hyatt and the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences.
| Career FairAttend the largest career fair in the country specifically aimed at Hispanics in engineering, math and science. SHPE is the source for quality Hispanic engineers and technical talent. | Technical Paper, Research Poster & Design CompetitionsCollege students will present their research and/or design projects through these competitions. Some financial assistance to attend the conference is provided to the selected finalists. | Graduate School Fair Meet with different colleges, universities and funding agencies that offer advanced degree programs and fellowships in science, technology, engineering and math. Click on the "Sponsorship" link for a list of the 45 institutions exhibiting at the fair. | Gala BanquetFeaturing today's top leaders and entertainers, the Gala Banquet offers oustanding networking opportunities. | National Academic OlympiadExperience the technical team competition, where SHPE student chapters from all seven regions compete nationally in order to test both their technical and team skills. | National AwardsRecognizing individuals and companies who have assisted SHPE in reaching its position. | AHETEMS Distinguished Lectures SeriesA premier event, this program will host several distinct administrators and research faculty addressing in-depth national issues affecting Latinos/as in higher education and also highlight their innovative research and patented-technologies. Speakers have been invited from the California State University, Sacramento, National Academy of Engineering, National Aeroautics and Space Admininstration, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, University of Texas at Austin Law School, and White House Initiative on Hispanic Excellence in Education. This event is open to the general public, especially from the Denver academic, corporate and goverment sectors. | GRE/GRAD LABIn partnership with The National GEM Consortium and the AHETEMS Foundation, this two-day program will provide undergraduates, who are seriously interested in pursuing or are in the process of applying for a masters or doctoral degree program in science, technology, engineering or math, with the academic and non-cognitive skills needed to make a successful application and succeed in graduate school. The program will include a practice GRE test, GRE review, grad prep seminars and a VIP graduate hospitality suite invite. Interested students must apply for this program. Some travel and funding is available. | Graduate InstituteHeld at the Grand Hyatt, this program will provide selected masters and doctoral students, with academic and career development training to siccessfully complete their technical graduate degrees. Interested students must apply for this all-expense paid program. | |
