National Institute for Leadership Advancement (NILA) Conference

The National Institute for Leadership Advancement (NILA) is the premier leadership training event for SHPE. By the end of the conference, every chapter officer will take home the tools and positive outlook essential to being outstanding and elective SHPE leaders. I strongly encourage that your chapter becomes involved with NILA and have representative from your respective chapters.

A chapter can only send two representatives and the cost of registration (including travel and lodging) is $300 per person and late registration cost is $350. Registration deadline is June 1st and Late Registration Deadline is June 15th. If you have questions regarding travel scholarships or any other general questions, feel free to contact me.

The National Institute for Leadership Advancement (NILA) is the premier leadership training event for SHPE. Since its inception in 1986, NILA has grown to become an event widely anticipated by members and highly respected by corporate sponsors.

The intense four-day program includes:

• Interactive workshops on group dynamics, team building, goal setting, strategic planning, project management  and more

• Seminars led by experienced pros covering different perspectives on technical, social, political and educational issues

• Hands-on activities designed to motivate and empower leaders, which lead to tips on thinking “outside the box” and implementing change

• Networking with other SHPE chapter officers to share ideas and best practices

• Team case study projects focusing on ethical issues allow participants to utilize tools learned throughout NILA culminating in a formal presentation
