The

Regional
Leadership Development Conference (RLDC 2010) – April 22-25
The
Region 6 RLDC for 2010 will be held at the University of Minnesota at the Twin
Cities campus. This chapter has been preparing a very exciting conference that
will include a theme called 5-fold: Shape the future, Make things happen, Engage
today’s talent, Build the next generation, Invest in yourself are the
headlines for the workshops. For more information please follow the Region 6

Early
registration for RLDC 2010 begins February 1 and will continue until April 4.If you sign up during these times, cost of
attendance will be $60 per student/ $80 per professional.Late registration will be from April 5 – April
16.Cost of attendance during the late
period will be $80 per student / $100 per professional.We encourage all members interested in
participating in RLDC to sign up ASAP.You can register online at:
Proposals
for RLDC 2011 are currently being accepted. If your chapter would like more
information or submit a proposal for 2010 please contact me at Mauro.Rodriguez@shpe.org.

Region
6 Membership
Currently
we are 658 members strong, and we are only 258 members away from increasing total
membership by15%.Records indicate that there
are still 213 unpaid members within Region 6. Conference calls are scheduled to
take place for the next two weeks within the West, North, and East sub-regions.
The
4.0 Paws of the Obsidian (Academic Pilot Program)
This
program involves a competition where a student chapter and all of its members are
one competitor. The competition is aimed to increase Academic Excellence within
Region 6. There are four parts to the competition where Electronic Google
Document forms will be used. Only one member from every chapter may make a
submission. Log forms have instructions and selections that identify the
students’ chapter and other criteria. Submissions are to be made every two
weeks by one member from every chapter. These online submission forms may be
found on the Region 6 website.
Most
Valuable Chapter Competition II – 2010 Region 6 RLDC
Region
6 will be having another Most Valuable Chapter Competition for the 2010 RLDC.
All chapters are encouraged to participate and any documentation and events
from the 2009 Fall and 2010 Spring Semester can be used into this competition.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities Student SHPE Chapter and the
Twin Cities Professional SHPE Chapter are proud to host the Region 6
Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) for 2010. This
conference will offer students the opportunity to learn what it takes
to be real leaders, while at the same time working on group projects
that will give them the experience they need to see what true
Leadership entails. The theme of this conference is 5-fold:
